The Amar was a Republic D-9 class battlecruiser in service to the Republic Navy during the clone. By the 21 BBY, the Amar was commanded by Captain Krase.
In 21 BBY, the Amar led a squadron of three battle cruisers to intercept a mysterious cloud phenomenon crossing Republic space at hyperspeed, later identified by the crew of the Enterprise as V'Ger, a Confederate bio-weapon. The Amar and squadron fired proton torpedoes at the center of the nebula, but were promptly destroyed by V'Ger's advanced high-energy plasma.
