The Wolcott class was a type of relatively large heavy transport in service to the Imperial Navy shortly after the Clone Wars, and was still in use in the last days of the Galactic Civil War.

Technical Data Edit

The class was known to operate in two configurations. The standard transport arrangement featured two Utopia Planitia Doere class hyperdrive nacelles held on pylons to either side of the ship, and, in addition to the hyperdrive, the design also featured powerful impulse engines, which was said by Lieutenant Commander Reginald Barclay to be able to run circles around an Imperial class Star Destroyer.

History Edit

The class had entered service as early as 19 BBY when vessels of the class were used by the Empire as executive transports for dignitaries, diplomats, and high ranking military personnel, and both Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin and General Beto straden were known to own one. They were also used as large shuttlecraft and runabouts, transporting a starship's crew to the starship, instead of small numbers of crew in shuttlecraft.

In 2 ABY, the Jenolen, a transport-configured Wolcott class vessel was ferrying passengers to the retirement planet Norpin V when it crash landed on a Dyson Sphere. The Jenolen remained there until the Enterprise discovered it.

During the Galactic Civil War, the transport-configured Wolcott class vessel Nash made regular visits to space station Deep Space N-9, including delivering Department of Temporal Investigations agents Dulmer and Gariff Lucsly in 2373.
